Patient Experience Improvement at Healthcare PX

Healthcare PX is a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the patient experience by assisting hospitals in establishing or strengthening Patient and Family Advisory Councils. The organization's name is inspired by Joan's Family Bill of Rights, a heartfelt document created by Barbara Lewis following the tragic loss of her sister, Joan, in 2012. During Joan’s two-week stay in the intensive care unit, Barbara experienced firsthand the shortcomings in patient-centered care. This poignant experience fueled her dedication to elevate the voices of patients and families, with one of the most impactful methods being through Patient & Family Advisory Councils.
